Sprint to Extend 4G Network to 10 New Cities
Sprint is one of the leading mobile carriers in United States, which has managed to upgrade its image in the industry with powerful network support and internet browsing facilities. Needless to say, the company has already established its foot in providing 4G network capabilities with the help of its WiMax brand.
It was in September 2008 that Sprint launched its 4G WiMax network facilities in the area of Baltimore. This new development was met with huge response and helped the company to preserve its good position in the market. Now, the company is planning to extend its WiMax capabilities to as many as 10 new cities in the country.
Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Worth, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Portland and Seattle are the cities, where Sprint has shown interest in enabling 4G network capabilities by the end of the year 2009. Not only that, the company has other cities in its list for the year 2010 as well. You can expect the 4G WiMax services to reach Boston, Houston, New York, San Francisco and Washington by the end of 2010.
Apart from this, Sprint has also revealed that it will be launching a number of 4G enabled devices in 2009 as well as 2010. As you might be familiar, 4G allows some great services like fast mobile internet access, fast file transfer, fast video streaming and uninterrupted remote access. Downlink speed of up to 12 Mbps is another advantageous feature of 4G network support.
