Sony Ericsson Adopts Android, Continues with Windows and Symbian
Sony Ericsson has been launching new cell phones using platforms like Windows and Symbian operating systems. However, the company has been talking about the launch of an Android based cell phone. It was in April this year that the company representatives declared that the Android based device will take some time to appear on the scene.
Now, it is in the news that Sony Ericsson is on the verge of introducing their first Android based cell phone. The device will be supported by Android 2.0 operating system. Android 2.0 firmware was recently revealed on internet and one of the new features for the operating system include Rosie interface for HTC devices. Also, it is expected that the new version of Android operating system will have greater multimedia support than the previous one.
As soon as Sony Ericsson started talking about its Android based cell phone, it was in rumors that the company might abandon the use of Windows and Symbian operating systems. However, the company has confirmed that it will continue releasing cell phone based on these two operating systems, along with Android based devices.
Recalling the Mobile World Conference of 2009, Sony Ericsson announced the Symbian based Idou phone, with 12.1 MP camera and many other wonderful features, under its Entertainment Unlimited label. According to the speculations, the company is ready with another Entertainment Unlimited device and it can be the Android based device we have been talking about. The announcement is expected to be a week or two away.
