Samsung Ready with Answer for LG’s 5 Million
LG announced the sale of its 5MP camera cell phone, Viewty, touching the figure of 5 million in the time period of 14 months. To answer this, Samsung has given another exciting figure for the sale of its cell phones in the last year. The company has announced that its touch screen cell phone devices were sold to 10 million customers in 2008.
If overall sale of the cell phones around the world is considered, the sale of Samsung phones in terms of percentage is definitely an impressive figure for the company. The touch phone units sold by different manufacturing companies last year are figured out to be 37 million. Thus, 28% of the total sale of touch screen cell phones is credited to none other than Samsung.
The Samsung touch screen cell phones sold in USA are counted to be 2.2 million. However, the countries in Europe witnessed their residents purchasing as many as 4 million of these devices. In South Korea, the figure calculated was 1.12 million, while in China; the number is nearly 1 million.
This is not only good news for Samsung, but for other cell phone manufacturing companies as well. Now, we can expect more of the touch screen cell phones being manufactured and sold across the world by all renowned cell phone manufacturing companies. Apart from touch screen, these cell phone devices will be endowed with other impressive features as well. It seems that the revolution started by invention of touch screen cell phones will touch new heights in 2009.
