Nokia Plans to Close N-Gage, Further Developments at Ovi Store
N-gage has been the well-known game development platform. All of us have been the admirers of many wonderful games developed using the platform. The N-gage mobile games have been the part of many Nokia handsets. Surprisingly, Nokia is planning to shut down the N-Gage platform before the year 2010 ends. N-Gage website is going to be active throughout the next year, though the N-Gage store is going to close the sale of mobile games by September 2010.
The Nokia handsets supported by Symbian S60 and S40 platforms need not to worry about the move. The manufacturer has decided to use Ovi store as the selling point for various cell phone games, as soon as the N-Gage store goes off the air. The Ovi store application is going to be available on the supported Nokia devices in advance. The manufacturer has decided to retain the community options for the game applications in the new store as well.
One relieving feature is that the games already running on the cell phones of current Nokia users will keep on running for long time. Thus, the shutting down of N-Gage store would not affect the availability of games applications on the devices already in use.
N-Gage is one o the most admirable things one can find with Nokia. The platform has been ranked higher for delivering the games we all have loved and got habitual to. Thus, the news for closing the platform comes as a surprise. Though, we expect the things to be good with Ovi store as well.
