Nokia 6216 Classic with NFC Services Integrated with SIM
Nokia 6216 Classic has been unveiled by the manufacturer at WIMA conference and it became the third handset to join the family of NFC-based handsets. However, the device differs from its predecessors, as it integrates NFC connectivity services in the SIM card itself. This means that it would be the first wireless device that could be used as the replacement for credit cards.
For the information of the readers, NFC or Near Field Communication is the popular technology that allows the exchange of data between compatible devices located at a distance of 10 cm from each other. Hence, the devices using this technology can be used as electronic ticket to travel and pay the bills.
As compared to Bluetooth technology, the NFC connectivity is much more secure and the connection between two NFC-enabled devices can be established in the tenth fraction of a second. With Nokia 6216 Classic, the user information will be stored in the SIM card itself. Thus, there will be no need of carrying smart cards for performing different types of transactions.
