New Android and Symbian Versions – Some Previews
The Cell phone industry is not only known for the wars of the device manufacturers, but another war is on among the smart phone platforms.
The year 2010 is going to experience two important updates in the form of latest versions of Android and Symbian platforms. While Android 2.2 Froyo, the latest for the platform, still has some time to get real, the newest version of Symbian is ready for release through Nokia N8 device.
The experts in the industry have previewed the Symbian^3 platform that will be soon found in Nokia N8, the manufacturer’s next smart phone flagship. It is no less than a surprise that the platform has brought a little change in terms of functionality when compared to the existing Symbian versions. Failing to provide any innovative feature, the platform can be called a polished version of its predecessor. As far as the Nokia N8 is considered, it can be called a decent package with 12MP camera, HDMI port and 720p video. The preview is indeed shocking, but one can expect improvements in the platform functionality before Nokia N8 enter the market.
A few months from now, you will be able to see the next Android version called Froyo in the market. The platform is undergoing the testing phase and the end-user won’t have to wait much to experience the latest in Android functionality. As expected, the platform is going to introduce some new features for the smart phones. Automatic application update is one of the key features of the platform. As for now, Android 2.1 supports manual application updating.
