Microsoft Reveals Hardware Requirements for Windows Phone 7

Microsoft Windows Phone 7 platform was one of the main highlights of the MWC this year. You might have read about the minimum hardware requirement rumors for the platform previously. But,it is now that the company has come up with hardware requirements for
the devices that would be supported by the platform.

As many as 3 variants, or chassis, have been leaked by the company to reveal Windows Phone 7 requirements for different types of
handsets.Out of these three, only the first chassis has some details for the interested readers. As per the revealed details,the chassis 1 variant is for the big touch screen phones. Though, it is yet not confirmed, but a 3.6 inch WVGA is one of the requirements for these devices.In addition,these phones,to run Windows Phone 7,should have 1 GHz CPU and graphics acceleration.

Chassis 2 and chassis 3 have limited information for the readers. Some of the rumored requirements for chassis 2 are slide-out QWERTY keyboards and touch screens. The chassis 2 devices are being called the Treo-like.

Chassis 3 devices have been specified to be those with bar form factor. You can wait for few more days to learn about other hardware requirements, including camera resolution, GPS, Wi-Fi and other components. As far as the launch of these variants is concerned, the chassis 1 is going to be around by the holiday season, though there is no information about chassis 2 and 3.
