LG Arena Chasing the Footprints of Viewty and cookie
LG has already celebrated the success of selling 5 million Cookie handsets and an equal number of Viewty cell phones worldwide. It seems that LG Arena is fast chasing the footprints of the two devices, as LG has successfully recorded the mark of one million Arenas sold in the market.
LG KM900 Arena was officially announced at MWC in February 2009 and was released two months after that in April. So, it took duration of four months for the device to cross the milestone of having more than a million users worldwide. Needless to say, it is an impressive achievement for the device and its manufacturer.
LG Arena is a complete multimedia device, with outstanding audio-video capabilities, and the manufacturer considers its S Class interface to be the contributing factor in this success. Being a great supported for multimedia technologies, like Dolby and DivX, LG Arena became an instant success among the users and it is very well evident from the statistics like pre-orders and first week sales recorded by the manufacturer.
LG Arena is not spared from limitations like unimpressive feature implementation in the device. GPS receiver of the device has also been reported by the users to create issues. Still, a fine share of the credit for success can be given to the excellent marketing campaign of the manufacturer.
More than 53 countries contribute towards the one million mark of the device. Expectations are high for the device to soon join Viewty and Cookie and achieve the milestone of 5 million users.
