HTC HD2 Becomes Official - Packs a Lot of Surprises

Apart from the release of Windows Mobile 6.5, October 6 also became an important day for witnessing the official announcement of HTC HD2. Those who have been following the rumors about the device can consider it worth waiting, as new HTC player confirms all of them to be true. More than that, there are some good surprises that can further develop one’s interest to know more about the device.

As obvious, HTC HD2 is supported by the Windows Mobile 6.5 platform. A 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, along with 448 MB of RAM, has been integrated in the design to power the device. The 4.3 inch WVGA display is one feature of the device, though what makes it interesting is the capacitive touch screen, making it the first Windows based device to have this functionality.

HTC Sense user interface and TouchFLO 3D are the obvious features on the list of HD2. As far as connectivity features of the device are concerned, one can find everything, from GSM to UMTS with 7.2 Mbps of HSDPA and 2 Mbps of HSUPA. Wi-Fi support and GPS add to the usefulness of this device and one can also see Bluetooth and USB included in the long specification list.

Some other worthy features include a 5MP camera, a 3.5mm audio jack, along with accelerometer and proximity sensor. As you can see, the device has all good reasons to become a power packed performer in the cell phone market.
