AT&T to Fulfill its Promise for Free Wi-Fi Facility
It was in the second month of this year that AT&T, the leading mobile service provider in United States, announced the provision of free Wi-Fi technology to its iPhone subscribers. However, the promises were not kept by the company, which lead to cancellation of plans during first three quarters of year. The company made the final announcement last week to revive its offerings and this time, some Blackberry subscribers will also be endowed with this facility.
The subscribers will be able to access this service by choosing the hot spot and entering their cell number at desired place. Before doing that, the customers must go through the terms and conditions mentioned by the company. The confirmation link is sent to the subscriber’s cell phone and this will mark the beginning of unlimited wireless access from the device. The good news is that the service will be absolutely free of cost.
Wi-Fi is considered as a better service providing technology as compared to 3G. This is because, it offers increased internet access speeds and at the same time helps in saving the battery life of the device. Further going, it will also relieve the broadband network providers from the excessive load. This offer from AT&T will certainly add value to the Blackberry Pearl and soon to be released Blackberry Bold. All these smart phones will be carrying service support from AT&T and hence, will be eligible for free Wi-Fi access.
The subscribers will be able to choose amongst innumerable hot spots offered by AT&T, which include airports, hotels, libraries and many more.
