The Siemens company, was founded by Werner von Siemens on October 1, 1847 in Berlin, Germany and its headquarters are located in Munich, Germany. The Siemens Mobile company built the first long-distance telegraph line in Europe, spanning 500 km from Berlin to Frankfurt am Main. In 1997 Siemens sells the world first phone with a color screen, Siemens S10 with different colors red, green, blue and white. In 2005 the Taiwanese company BenQ acquired the financially bleeding mobile phone subsidiary from Siemens and gained the exclusive rights.
Siemens COM is dealing with the communications and information business and is the largest division of Siemens and which is divided into Mobile Networks, Fixed Networks and Enterprise business units. Siemens has established its organizations in more than 190 countries and merged with different networks. In April 2007, the Fixed Networks, Mobile Networks and Carrier Services divisions of Siemens merged with Nokia network.
