Nokia E61 Cell Phones
The Nokia E61 is a cutephone from the Eseries range, an S60 platform third edition device with qwerty keyboard. Nokia E61 uses the Symbian OS v9.1, 206 MHz ARM9 Processor, 75 MB internal memory, Excellent screen, USB 2.0 (pop-port) mass-storage, miniSD memory card slot, WLAN and Good battery life. These Cell Phones support GSM 850/900/1800/1900, WiFi, Infrared, Bluetooth, 3G, VoIP, Push To Talk and Mini SD storage cards. On the software side, user can add to that list support for Symbian OS 9.1 compatible applications, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents, as well as Zip files and PDF files via Adobe reader.
The Nokia E61 is featuring a full QWERTY keyboard in an extremely light and slim package, this device not only incorporates PDA functionality but also a host of connectivity options. It is a quad-band operation with automatic network switching and data connectivity serviced by Wi-Fi, GPRS, WCDMA and EDGE. User can connect this phone to the PC using the Pop-Port, infra-red or Bluetooth options. The Nokia E61 can also be configured to synchronize with user Microsoft Exchange account to access Calendar, email and contacts.
Nokia E61 is having the Messaging service. Messaging is the biggest feature of this phone. The E61's screen can be sent out to compatible projectors via the E61's screen export package, making it a potential replacement for some ultraportable notebooks, depending on user usage patterns. The E61 has full support for POP3, IMAP, SMTP and Microsoft Exchange Server email. This phone supports POP, IMAP(with idle) and SMTP protocols and MS Active Sync. Another interesting feature is Access point groups similar to the network profile manager in notebook computers, this lets user assign a preferred network for mail downloads. Setting up an email account is quite simple and the phone even has pre-set options for popular email services like Hotmail and Gmail.
Since the Nokia E61 can be configured to retrieve messages at regular intervals, this may be almost as good as a push mail service. Unlike the older Nokia phones, now user can view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint attachments also on this phone straight out of the box. And in Nokia tests the E61 performed fairly well on this front. And finally, Nokia E61 phone also has a LED flash for new mail message. And user can connect the phone to a Bluetooth enabled projector to make a show.
