Samsung Katalyst, which is also known as Samsung SGH-T739 is a sporty looking slider phone that is capable of running on any GSM network in the world. One of the best features of the Katalyst Cell Phone is it supports the latest UMA technology that provides access to cellular mobile voice and data services over unlicensed spectrum technologies, such Bluetooth or Wi-Fi (802.11). The SANYO S1 is wrapped in a silky, soft-touch finish that feels great in hand. The S1 also supports advanced features, including a high-quality speakerphone, Bluetooth wireless technology and Sprint Vision services.
The Samsung Katalyst SGH-T739 was released exclusively for T-Mobile, the Katalyst supports T-Mobile’s HotSpot @Home service. Other features of the Samsung Katalyst includes a 176×220 pixel 262k color LCD display, a 1.3-megapixel digital camera, microSD slot, and Bluetooth. The Sanyo S1 is a slim candy bar phone for Sprint that is available now via RadioShack. It seems to be a pretty simple device, with Bluetooth, a speakerphone, and access to Sprint's Vision services. RadioShack is getting a tremendous head start here, as the Sanyo S1 won't even go on sale via Sprint until January of next year. By then, the phone might be renamed the Kyocera S1, for all we know.
By comparing the Samsung Katalyst measures 3.96 inches by 1.99 inches by 0,51 inchesand is a lihgtweight at 3.17 ounches. The S1 measures 4.4 inches by 2.0 inches by 0.4 inch and is quite lightweight at 2.5 ounces. The S1 have a nice matte finish on the back, which allows for a better grip. On the front is a 1.7-inch 65,000-color display, with a decent resolution of 128x160 pixels.
